From my experience, you need to have a step by step system which is not overwhelming but has clear actions that you can implement quickly and effectively to grow your business.

Make a plan: What is your 5 year plan? What does that look like for 3 years? Where do you want to be this time next year? What needs to happen in the next 90 days?

  • Analyse - Initially review where you are now and identify the appropriate steps that are relevant for your business

  • Strategy - Develop a clear strategy to know your key objectives, who you want to work with, the offering you are going to make to attract them and create your vision and goals. Have a concise plan and clarity that you can share with your people, customers and suppliers. 

  • Win more customers - Build on your existing activities and develop an effective marketing strategy to establish how you are going to proactively attract more of your ideal customers and generate a bigger income. 

  • Foundation - Build a base from which the growth can be effectively managed. Build a foundation across all areas of the business that supports the growth plan and not an approach of grow sales now, worry about the rest later.

  • Financials - Know your finances, understand how the planned growth will impact your cashflow and know the real numbers that drive your business growth. 

  • People - Create a system for attracting, recruiting, managing, developing and retaining the best people to work in your business and help you deliver the success you desire.

  • Systems and Processes - Establish a business build with operational excellence, that gets things right first time every time. Use systems and automation to create efficiencies in both time and money.
